About Brian D. Chenoweth

A 17-year veteran of environmental law, Brian D. Chenoweth founded the Chenoweth Law Group, P.C., where he serves as the Managing Partner. A graduate of The American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C., Brian D. Chenoweth earned his JD (cum laude) in 1994, the same year he gained admittance to the Oregon State Bar. Admitted to the Washington State Bar Association shortly thereafter, he took a position as an Attorney with Detlefsen Law Office PC, where he worked until 1997, when he became a Partner at Rycewicz & Chenoweth, LLP. He spent the next nine years in this role before establishing the Chenoweth Law Group, P.C.

Brian D. Chenoweth practices many types of law, including environmental, insurance, land use, real estate, and business. He has represented both defendants and plaintiffs in many aspects of environmental law, including consultant and contractor negligence, bodily injury, water quality, and property damage, negotiating complex settlements with federal and state agencies and pursuing other at-fault parties to ensure their contribution to cleanup and recovery efforts. Brian D. Chenoweth has also represented the interests of those who have been affected by pollution resulting from an industrial accident or negligence.

In addition to his litigation practice, Brian D. Chenoweth advises businesses and individuals on real estate matters and business transactions, especially relative to regulatory compliance and environmental liability. With 14 years of experience, he can foresee potential legal issues and address them before they become problems for his clients. He also handles brownfield redevelopment and matters of agency enforcement.

Outside of the office, Brian D. Chenoweth hikes, bikes, travels, and enjoys a variety of other outdoor activities. When not busy fighting to protect the environment, he prefers to enjoy it with his family.
